Sweepstake Rules

Welcome to the RBS Six Nations 2011 Sweepstake.

The object of this competition is to predict the result and points difference for each match in the RBS Six Nations Championship as well as the final positions of the teams in the table.

To enter the sweepstake, make your predictions by 19:45 on Friday 4th February (i.e. the kick-off time of the first match).

The Stakes and How they are Won

The cost of an entry is £3 and you can enter as many times as you like! Points are given for the accuracy of prediction and the three entries with the most points at the end of the tournament will split the stake money in the ratio 7:2:1.

Making Your Predictions

• Fill in your name and your contact (prefereably e-mail) address.
  
  
• Predict the result of each match (home team win, away team win or a draw). Each correct result will score 10 points. Note that the percentages shown for each match represent the number of predictions already made, in the order 'home team win'/'draw'/'away team win'.
  
  
• Predict the points difference in each match. Points are awarded according to how close your points difference is to the points difference in the game, regardless of whether or not you also predicted the winning team, as follows:

   within  2 point ........ 9
   within  4 points ....... 8
   within  6 points ....... 7
   within  8 points ....... 6
   within 10 points ....... 5
   within 12 points ....... 4
   within 14 points ....... 3
   within 16 points ....... 2
   within 18 points ....... 1
  

• Predict the order that the teams will finish in the final Table. Click on a team to add it as the next item in the table; click on a team in the table to remove it if you change your mind. The best way is to select the teams in the order you think they will finish (1->6). 5 points will be awarded for each correct relative position in the group, with 5 bonus points if the order of the teams in the table is exactly right.
  An example:
  If the group finishes as ABCDEF and you predict BCDAEF, your score will be 60 points out of a possible 80 points, made up as follows:

  20 points for B finishing above C, D, E and F
  15 points for C finishing above D, E and F
  10 points for D finishing above E and F
  10 points for A finishing above E and F
   5 points for E finishing above F
  60 points in total  
  

• When you have entered your details and completed your predictions click the Submit button to submit your entry.
  
  
• If your entry is inconsistent or incomplete, or the Name has been used by an existing entry a warning message will appear at the top of the input screen. In this case please adjust your entry and re-Submit it.
  
  
• If your entry is successful a message at the top of the input screen will indicate this and your predictions will be re-displayed. You may then refresh or reload the web page and construct another entry using a different name.
